Here is a photo I took today of a sampler that is still in progress. I charted and stitched up the name of my blog on a 32 ct linen with Weeks Dye Works "Merlin" thread. The fabric is actually a remnant that I bought on a recent shopping trip with my needlework guilds. A label on it only gave the color (sandstone), not the manufacturer, but I suspect that it's from Wichelt. The WDW was an impulse purchase from the same store. It's a deep, dark navy that looks like ink, and I love it. In fact, I love this combination of fabric and thread. I can picture several samplers in this: Long Dog's Paradigm Lost, Papillon's Mary Queen of Scots, Scarlet Letter's Ann Grimshaw, Needleprint's Beatrix Potter, or Plum Street Sampler's Coffin Buzz. Decisions, decisions...

  2. Thank you, Yv! I'm not quite sure what will come next on this one, but I've got an idea. Got to chart it up first and see how it looks. The letters are the type used on Quaker samplers. I've looked at your blog. Very nice!
