Current Project

Tintin was an easy cross stitch. (Sewing it up as a banner was a different story!) Right now I'm working on a housewarming present for friends of ours who recently bought a new house. The design is from the November 1986 issue of Cross Stitch and Country Crafts, an oldie but a goodie! It was designed by Polly Carbonari, and features five rows of five houses each. The houses are based on the schoolhouse quilt block, which made it a really appropriate choice as both these friends are teachers. I wasn't happy with the border, so I changed it and also changed the colors. The fabric is 14ct platinum aida from Charles Craft and the threads are all DMC. Here is my progress as of last week.
